It’s been over a year since the last (and 5th) installment of Seacoast Rep’s popular series “I Could Just Diary!” gave audiences a rolicking good time from The Rep’s stage with local characters doing live (and often timed embarrassing) readings from their high school diaries Under new curation by The Mad Men of Oopsy Daisy Inc! – The Red Light series is bringing “I Could Just Diary” back by popular demand!
A total of four this year, one for each season! First up – “I Could Just Diary – Episode 6!”
Seacoast Rep’s Red Light Series is now accepting submissions for “My Funny Valentine!” Diary entries revolving around love or lack thereof.
Please send submissions to:
No limits, anything goes. Entries can be funny, shocking, embarrassing, sad, poignant, bittersweet or just plain filthy! We are looking for the exceptional, the outragous, the unexpected, and the occasional heart wrencher, the zingers, the belly laughs, the tears. These entries should be real diary entries or letters, written by you, at an earlier point in your life, having to do with valentines day, perhaps a date gone wrong? Or well? Love (sex,) or lack there of? A sexy encounter turned into a comedy of errors? Or the storybook meeting of the love of your life? The theme is broad (love,) so take your best shot, all submissions will be kept in the strictest of confidence but if chosen, the author must read their entry live in front of an audience on the stage of Seacoast Rep in Portsmouth NH on February 14th 2017.
This time around – we are also turning “I Could Just Diary” into a seasonal podcast series (winter, spring, summer, autumn) so in addition to the live audience, this evening will be recorded, and released as a podcast, downloadable by all of time and space on the interwebs.
Any names or private information regarding anyone other than yourself in your entry should be slightly altered to protect the anonymity of anyone mentioned in any entry submitted.
The deadline for submissions is January 27th.
We will announce the readers on or by February 1st.
The live performance will be Tuesday February 14th – anyone participating must be available on the night of the 14th as well as the night of Monday the 13th for rehearsal purposes and be willing to sign a waver of inclusion in our podcast.
Tickets for this event are $15 and can be purchased by visiting www.seacoastrep.org – or “Pay What you Can” at the door.
All proceeds to benefit The Seacoast Repertory Theatre.
