Anna Nuttall has enjoyed creating art and working in art education field as a teacher and administrator on the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Massachusetts for the last 19 years. She believes that art provides a unique opportunity to ever-develop our skills in creativity, compassion, communication, and critical-thinking while exploring our world and ourselves in meaningful and impactful ways. Common mediums and themes in her work include photography, printmaking, watercolor, pastel and mixed media and themes range from social justice to urban landscapes to nature, and emotional abstraction. This body of work is focused on her time connecting with nature, be it on the trails in the White Mountains, or meandering the Seacoast. On and off the map Anna finds inspiration in the lines, shapes, textures and visual details of nature and playing with these elements in abstract ways. Anna received her B.S. in Art Education and M.Ed. in Integrated Arts from PSU. She currently teaches at Portsmouth Music and Arts Center, and Portsmouth Middle School where she is Chair of the Visual Arts Department. In 2015, Anna received the NH Governor’s Arts Award in Art Education Leadership.
