Owl enthusiasts of all ages are invited to join us for our fall Owl Prowl, Thursday evening October 5, from 5:30 -7:30pm. This is the time of year when love is in the air and owls are searching for a mate. Join us first for a brief talk about owl mating, dissect some owl pellets, and create an owl headband. We will then set off to search for owls in Odiorne Point State Park. Some of our local residents are the Eastern screech owl, the barred owl, great horned owl, and the little saw-whet owl. You may even learn from one of our naturalists how to correctly call an owl and hopefully have them answer you back!
Please be prepared for walking in the woods. Wear good, sturdy shoes, have a headlamp or flashlight, a sweatshirt, jacket, hat, and some bug spray.
This is a free program, but we would happily accept donations to allow for more of these programs!
