First Sunday: Live Guitar Performances
at Portsmouth Public Library & Portsmouth Music and Arts Center

This fall, the Portsmouth Public Library and PMAC (Portsmouth Music and Arts Center) in association with the Boston Classical Guitar Society, will continue their series of live guitar performances called First Sunday. These free concerts will be held at 3 PM on the first Sunday of the month (except September), alternating locations between the Levenson Room at the Portsmouth Public Library and the Haas Family Gallery and Recital Hall at PMAC.

Dr. Perlak holds degrees from The University of Texas at Austin (DMA ’08), Yale University School of Music (MM ’01), and Stetson University (BM ’98), and a certificate of completion from the Harvard University Management Development Program (2013). She is the Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department at the Berklee College of Music, the author of Classical Technique for the Modern Guitarists (2016), and the 2016 recipient of the 2016 Berklee Chair Recording Grant. Kim Perlak’s repertoire features new American music for the guitar.
Drawing from a rich selection of guitar talent from both New Hampshire and the greater Boston area, the series of recitals will highlight the versatility and range of the guitar from classical to jazz to acoustic.
First Sunday is a collaboration between the Portsmouth Pubic Library and the Portsmouth Music and Art Center.
