In improv, we are continuously asked to play all types of people. Characters might have different ages than our own, different genders, bodies, accents, statuses, personalities. Ask yourself, are you truly creating dynamic and realistic characters? If you want to expand your character versatility and learn how to realize the full potential of using your body and voice to create unique and memorable characters on stage, this class is for you! Good character work will liberate your improv. If you can play anyone, you can play anything.
The cost is $40 per person. You must be +18 years old to sign up.
Our instructor, Jacqueline Martell, has been doing improv professionally with Stranger Than Fiction Improv & Comedy for the past 10 years. Before that, Jacqueline was classically trained in music, musical theatre, Shakespeare, and acting at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. While in California, she also completed extensive training at the Voice One Academy for voice over artists. A master of accents and body language, Jacqueline could likely work for the CIA, but she prefers comedy to counterintelligence. She is a firm believer that character work is not only fun and challenging, but it takes us deeper into our imagination and ultimately strengthens our empathy for our fellow human beings.
